Working together to end hunger in Southern Africa Boomerang Festival has decided to donate a percentage of profits to Stop Hunger Now, an international organization with plenty of great ideas, actively doing something about the hunger crisis in SA and around the world.
About 290 000 children go hungry every day in the Western Cape, with about 3.3 million children going hungry every day in the whole of Africa.
The profits donated will consist of R10 per ticket sold which will go towards meals for pre-schools, creches, and other early development centers in Cape Town. Every R10 will feed a child for one week and hopefully bring some light into their life, for a better future for all.
Each meal works out to R2.00 – which consists of a dehydrated package including veg, rice and other vitamins and minerals. This tasty meal only needs water to become a nutritious daily boost for children under 6 years of age.
